ab soreness-how long??
DeeDee -
You don't mention in your profile, but based on the fact you were back to work before 3 full weeks, I would assume you had a lap RNY instead of open?
With a lap, you still may have some discomfort for a while yet; I know I was normally a stomach-sleeper and couldn't for 6-8 weeks (about 2 months).
With an open, I would think that it would be even longer...
Your body's been through a lot of trauma, even though you may feel somewhat better, and it's still 'settling' while you lose weight so rapidly, so things may not settle into place enough to sleep on your stomach for a while yet.
A possible suggestion - get a pillow that provides some support, yet is soft - sleep half on your side leaning your stomach on that pillow and see how that works for you - that worked for me for a bit before I was able to fully sleep on my stomach again -
Hang in there - it gets better soon
YEP i had to wedge a pillow ( OH TEDDY BEAR my local chapter gals gave me)....to help with that soreness. IT took about 6 to 8 weeks to totally have no soreness when i slept.
BUT then in the summer when i was almost 3 months out i laid on a boogie board in the water and had pain. IT takes a long time to heal
form this surgery! JUST figure out what works!
ALL THE BEST
happy looseing!
