Anyone have any suggestions on questions I can ask the surgeon. Im preparing a list and just want to see what others had asked. Thanks Betsy

Inquire about pain management. If they use Morphine, do know that Morphine can cause histamine release which results in itching. My advice is that at the first sign of itching ask for a different pain medication. I didn't and they tried to control it with Benedryl. Benedryl, even at maximum dosage, didn't work (for me) and I was itching like a crazy man for about 12 hours even after switching to Dilaudid. (my eyelid even itched! ) Needless to say... I've now listed an allergy to morphine in my medical records.
