Blisters from steri tape

Oh my God, I itch !!!! I have blisters starting to form from the steri tape, I don't dare take it off till it starts rolling off, I still have some spots that aren't sealed completely yet. Also, I don't know why today I am so bloated compared to yesterday. I can see the bloat in my belly. I haven't had a BM since Monday, could it be that or could it be my trying the protein so early, one week out. I am also trying to distinguish am I full or hungry or is it just air. I guess trial and error will let me know. Other than that I really feel great. I have been up and around all day today, I ventured out to Walmart and got a few things. But I am feeling it tonight, my sides hurt and my back feels strained a bit. Just sore. Its the most I have been up and awake since surgery. Anyway thats it for now. Hi Shannon I did have a problem with all the tape as I have an allergy to adhesives. I am not sure about the bloat, but it could be because of no BM. It seems to me that I did not have a lot of BM's while on the liquid diet. I don't recall being able to try protein until Day 14-4 weeks out. It took me about 4-5 weeks to recognize the "full" feeling. You will know it when it happens. I found it very hard to distinguish while on liquids because they go straight through you. It is much easier once you start on solids. Getting out and about is good, but don't tire yourself. Remember to take care of you, whether it is just stopping to rest or taking a nap. I am four months out and still nap occasionally during the early evening. I hope some of this helps. Please feel free to e-mail me if you would like. Take care of yourself. Hi Brenda, I also knew I had an allergy to the tape, but only thing that ever happened before was itchy and welted a little. It is getting better though, I can't wait for the rest of these things to fall off. I figured the liquids was why I could not feel anything. Hi Shannon, I cant do that tape either. It gives me the itches as well and then I am red for days. I tell them to put the paper tape on me and I do not have any problems besides it falling off easy. Good to hear you are up and about. Its good to get up and move but dont over do it! Hope the itches go away soon! Tavia

Thanks Tavia, I'm glad to be out and a bout a little bit, but boy am I tired out today. Yesterday I felt real good, today not so good. But tomorrow is another day, I haven't taken any meds in two days, so I decided after I got back from the Church Christmas Play to come home and drink my din din and take some meds and veg out for the evening.
