trying to get back on track...
Hi,
I was doing well with a pre-op diet, then the clinic i went to decided they wouldn't do the surgery on me because they wanted my psychiatrist to be involved in the process while I'm in the hospital and the psychiatrist couldn't be. I dont mean for a psych consult. I mean the clinic wanted the psych doc to come to the hospital while I'm having the surgery. So ever since I got word that the clinic denied me, I have been struggling to keep on track. I do have an appointment with another surgery clinic 3 hours away at saranac lake on the 13th. Hopefully they can help me. I try to do the healthy eating but it is very hard. I mess it up every day then I feel horrible. I need to get back on track. I guess i am very discouraged because of being denied.

Debby, the bariatric clinics are not your only alternative and they frequently operate too much like a corporation rather than a healthcare facility. I tried that avenue first - then I went with a private physician. Aren't there surgeons who do this in private practice where you are? If you continue to have problems with clinics, I would consider looking at your preferred provider booklet or asking your primary care doctor to refer you to one, otherwise you could be spinning your wheels some more.
And stop beating yourself up. Unfortunately, depression brings on some rather not good habits.
Good luck and God bless.
