YES AMY its very hard. I know many people told me to change surgeons... because of this REQUIRED pre op weight loss requirement but i had 100 percent confidence in the surgeon i had choosen for my procedure, so know way would i change. I know this requirement was for my safety to help minimize complications and to make sure my liver wasnt enlarged so that he could successfully complete my surgery lapriscopically. VERY IMPORTANT, i struggled but the want for surgury got me thru. OPTIFAST is hard pre op its liquid but i will say i did some protein shakes pre op to boost my losses along. GOOD LUCK! and feel free to email me or IM me for any support. ((HUG)) LISA

I was a little more fortunate and only had to lose 10 pounds. But I sweated, believe me, I know where you are coming from. Especially during Thanksgiving. My surgery may not be until February so I need to maintain it with a trip to Disney. But anyway, good luck. I second the Carnation Instant Breakfast suggestion. I also use meal replacement bars, particularly those with higher protein like 18 g or more. I discovered Met RX...the bar I ate had 32 g of protein and it kept me full for 4 hours, I'm not kidding! I've lost 12 pounds now. Gonna keep going so that I have a cushion for my trip
