Quiet on here this weekend
Well I have found myself extremely stir crazy. I have been cleaning everything I can get to in the time I have each day. I have completely stripped down the bathrooms and scrubbed everything in them on my hands an knees all weekend. My knees are killing me. Today I went grocery shopping with hubby and he got food for him and I got a couple more things to go with my groceries that I have been stocking up on. Then after I put all the groceries away, I started going through my closet, well a couple hours later and I have two huge boxes of clothes and shoes from my closet and dresser that I never want to look at again. I did save enough clothes to get me by for a little while. But the rest are outta here. It felt so good to finally know that I will never need them again. I have just 8 days to go. Its coming on real fast and this week is gonna fly. I have a very busy schedule at work all week as well as Dr. appts on Monday and my pre-op visit at the hospital on Friday before I go to work from noon-8. I am trying to get my mind set to start drinking my decaf tomorrow, I have been trying to drink the 1/2 caffeine for a while now, but the dreaded change to full decaf is here, so I hope I can adjust without any headaches or anything. My husband has been making comments all weekend, thinking that the weight will not stop coming off, I told him what do you think I am going to weigh 50 pounds or something. He can't figure out how " it knows when to stop ".
I was searching around on the different bariatric supplement sites and found a really great recipe area. It was on bariatriceating.com. I will try some of these out on my family and not tell them that it is good for them. Maybe I can fake them out and get them all healthy.
I have also started to come down with a cold or something, NOT GOOD TIMING, so I have been taking those new Airborne tablets every three hours, and I really think they are fending off this cold. Boy do I need them to work. I don't want to be sick before my surgery, worse yet, not be able to get my surgery because I am sick. I woke up with swollen glands yesterday and stuffy nose a little sneezing and a cold sore in the edge of my nose.
Anyway I hope you all had a great weekend.

I hope you stay healthy till your surgery...I was scheduled for oct 5th, and on the night before I came down with the chills, fever and a terrible chest cold. I had to postpone surgery till nov 10th. But it's done now and so far everything has been great, I went thru it like a breeze. I'm sure you will too. Rest, relax and try not to get stressed or worried. Best of luck to you...definitly keep us posted!
I am feeling great. The surgery was a breeze...I was up wandering around as soon as they would let me. This lap surgery is so much easier on your body, I was amazed at how painless it was. I hope you have the same experience that I did. Yours is coming right up soon too! It is so exciting when it all happens and is over with. I am in the mushy soft stages of food right now and so far nothing is making me sick. Thank God.
Keep us all posted with your surgery and I'll be praying for you. Take care.

Hey Shannon,
Sorry to hear you might be getting sick! That would stink big time. I was initially suppose to have my surgery at the beginning of Jan. but it was canceled the day of (while I was sitting in pre-admit. surgery) b/c my WBC was just a little high. I did feel sick or anything. Oh well.
I did the Airborne thing too and it didnt seem to do much for me. I had my blood taken four more times and it was all the same for two weeks. Then poof the last test came back normal and I was good to go. Then the saga began!
I hope everything works out for you! Take care.

Thanks Tavia,
OMG, You even had problems before you started. Hey maybe they should've done it with the high WBC. Maybe you wouldn't have had all the problems. I am soooo worried about that happening.
How are you doing since your last test? Have they determined anything? I sure hope you get feeling better, you deserve to be free of these problems. You are such a sweet person, I have read many of your posts and are so supportive of all others even though you have been through so much, and you have so much information to share with others. I would like to thank you for all that you give.
Have a great day,
Shannon

Shannon,
Thank you so much for your kind words, really. Wow,people on the NY board are so so sweet(in comparision to the main board).
I am taking a break from dealing w/my problems right now. I am very disappointed w/the surgeon right now and he is aware of this. He goes on and on about trusting him, how much he cares, only listen to him b/c other people dont know my whole story etc and then when he is actually needed, where is he? Enough.
I am kind of at a breaking point and I do not want to break for my sons sake. The EGD didnt give us a solid answer so I have to do this test called a gastric empty test. Its a nuclear test, I have to go to the hospital to do it. I have eat this gross mixture of stuff and it takes 6 hours to do. I am in no mood for that right now. I know this test is going to give me a stomachache for three days.
If this test is going to let a cat out of the bag, I would rather it come out after this holiday.
I am sure you will be fine. I mean if you do feel a cold coming on, maybe its best to put it off for a week? I guess that is up to you! Let me know! Take care.
