I am 5 days out and doing great. One thing though...I am cold all the time now and I was never like this before. In fact I was quite the opposite, I was always the one that was too hot. Did anyone experience this at all? I am not feverish or anything, just can't seem to get warm.

Hey Bonnie! I am cold alllll the time. It funny w/my husbands high blood pressure and my gastric bypass we are on different levels when it comes to body heat. I say, "turn the heat I up I am freezing!" and he is like, "open the windows I am sweating to death here." Hee-Hee! I think it just happens w/such dramatic weight loss. You lose the fat for insulation. My fingers are cold as I type on the keyboard now! Small price to pay though, uh? Take care! Tavia

Thanks Tavia & Darlene...I'm trying to stay warm. It's strange to look forward to a hot flash just to warm up! I can't imagine this when I do lose alot of wieght.

Hi Bonnie, I'm a year post op and I'm still freezing. I sleep w/ an electric blanket. I'm like Tavia ..where I'm cold and my husband is always hot. He opens the windows and I turn up the heat. LOL Glad to know it's not just me though.

Hi Bonnie, I'm 8 days out and just the opposite...never had so many hot flashes in a row! put on a sweater, take off the sweater, dress in layers. Today I had a chill though and just couldn't get warm even under a big comforter. All I can recommend is layers of something soft and non-itching. Cotton undershirts, fleece or flannel. Everyone probably responds differently so hang in there and try to stay warm. Best of luck. Linda

Hi Bonnie, I'm almost 6 months post-op and I too am cold ALL the time (never was before). I asked my surgeon about it and she stated that it's perfectly normal and may last about a year or so. Burrrrr - can't imagine what the winter is going to be like - I had to wear a sweater every day this summer at work when everyone else was dying of the heat. The weight loss and energy gain are well worth it though. Good luck. Cindee 310/232/??

Bonnie, Hello hun ~Hugs~ I am glad you are doing great. I have to say I understand about being cold all the time, my hubby laughs at me because I have a little heater that I pull around the house with me now. I know it will pass in time but rather strange because I was so warm all the time before surgery. I know my cuz was REALLY cold all the time and she was low on Iron but I am not sure if that is the only side effect to it being low. Take care Debra P
