I am exactly where you are. Tomorrow is my 4 month anniversary. I have been losing hair like mad for about 3 weeks, & my hair was fine & short to begin with. It is very noticeable. It lasts for several months. It is caused by the shock of surgery. Everyone says it grows back thicker & better than before. But I might need a wig by then. This is very upsetting to me! Linda

I am still looseing mine and pulling big globs from the shower drain everytime i wa**** but i did notice this weekend i have new growth...PEACH FUZZIES. I guess the pieces I lost first are regrowing so thats hope. I am 6 months out on 12/1 if that helps you any! GOOD LUCK this stage is rough. LISA 310/202/???

This is totally normal. Mine stopped coming out around month 7. It is starting to come back again. It is still thinner than it used to be but lots of new sprouts are appearing. Not much really prevents it. It is just part of the process. Mary

Mine started to fall out by month 4 (I'm almost 7 months out) and had already started to grow back. It's a common side effect of WLS and if it's still bothering you, talk to your surgeon. I saw mine on Friday for a follow-up and he said that it's extrememly common and not to worry. It can start at any time. Try upping your protein (that seems to be the answer for everything) and be patient with your body. It's going through many changes and just needs extra TLC right now...

Maria- I am so there with you. It's actually so sad it is almost funny. We're talking globs of hair everywhere. I am almost 4mos out, so I guess this is when we need to expect. My hairdresser suggested moving your part to make it look fuller, I am going to try it.

I have heard that if you take Biotin and Zinc this will help tremendously. I would call your nutritionist and see what doseage you need. I am pre-op and this is a huge concern of mine. I am taking Biotin now to maybe help prevent this problem from starting. I know one of the girls that was at one of the support group meetings did this and had no hair loss. Also, you could try some Nioxin products, you can find it at a salon, it is expensive, but it works great. Shannon
