Well, first of all thanks for all the encouraging emails I received prior to surgery. Thank GOD everything went well on Monday, I got to the hospital at 7:30 am, but I don't think I went into the OR until almost 10am. Surgery was around 1 1/2 hours and according to the surgeron, wonderful Dr. Teixeira, everything went well. I got discharged from the hospital yesturday and being home has been great. I'm feeling gas pains as well as some chest pain when I take to big of a sip, but learning will come in time. The only complication I had after surgery was elevated blood pressure, which I have never had. So my surgeon has asked me to see a physician and I'm going to go see her tomorrow. I have my 1 week follow up next Tuesday and I'm very excited to see the weight comming off. I have cheated with the scale thing. The morning of the surgery I was 303.4 lbs, I had lost some weight since my journey began (started of at 312), well this morning I got on the scale and it read 287.4, I don't know if I should trust it or not, we will see what the MD weighs me at tomorrow. For some reason I think I'm comming down with strep throught, my middle child had it before I went in on Monday, and my throught is killing me today, not sure what kind of antibiotics I'll be allowed to take but we'll see tomorrow. Thanks again for all the ecoraging words and prayers they have ment the world to me. Pat 312/287.4/150

WELL welcome to the looseing side. YOU sound like your doing great. HOPE and praying you dont have STREP throat like your daughter but your immunity is weak from the major surgery so you might have contacted it. KEEP your chin high! EVERY day gets even better. DONT forget to get little walks! ALSO your throat could be sore from the surgery tubes in our throat while asleep....so maybe its not strep. WELL walk a little if you can to break up the gas. I know i had to a chew Gas x to help me get that gas moving out. LISA! 310/204/???

Pat, Hun I am glad you are doing well hun ~hugs~ welcome to the losers bench... You will start to see the weight coming off oh so soon if not already but remember that every Dr's scale is different, that is why I go by mine at home. I weigh myself the same time with the same amount of closes on-NONE. Well I hope you do not have strep and it might just be from the tube they put in when you are under. Well let us know hun ~Hugs~ Debra P 285/193/125??
