Good evening New Yorkers, just had my first appt with surgeon

I just got back from my first visit with Dr. Rajeev Vohra who is operates out of South Nassau Communities Hospital. WOW. I feel like I just went through a hurricane. He has not said yes or no, I have Crhons disease so surgery may be difficult due to past surgeries I have had to have, but he wants me to do all the testing anyway. I feel he will agree to operate. It is just a matter of which surgery he feels will be the best for me. I let him know all he has to do is get me to the other side and I will take it from there. I was amazed that he wanted me to start the liquid diet now. I asked about a time line and he said that if I get all the testiing done and lost at least 10 pounds by the next appt (one month from now) then if he can do the surgery he will schedule me. I asked don't we have to wait for insurance approval? He said he will deal with the insurance issue. Just the idea of being on the losing side by the new year astounds me. Was it like this for you guys? Sandra
