This is my first time posting. Has anyone just recently started this process at Highland Hospital in Rochester? I have completed my seminar as of October 27, had my nutrition Nov. 1, and had my phych evaluation Nov. 3. The nutritionist threw me for a loop!! If you don't have three 3 month Dr. supervised diets they are having you do a 6 month nutrition class. This has nothing to do with insurance, it's the bariatric center at Highland. They want people to be successful and not gain the weight back in years down the road. I guess the number of people that have gained the weight back is too high and they feel this will help for lifetime success. I am ok with that because I want to be successful, I just wasn't prepared to hear it. Just wondering if anyone else is going through this and if they would like to be e-mail support buddies???!!

Hi, and welcome. I had the same kind of thing happen to me--only I had to do psychological counseling for three months extra Marian S.C.

It's just a bummer when you aren't expecting it. But I am trying to stay upbeat and positive and I am praying that April gets here fast!!!

Hi Barb, I'm from Rochester too but had my surgery done this past May at Park Ridge (down 76 lbs so far). My surgeon was Dr. Jennifer Griffith and she was just wonderful. I would highly recommend her. I would love to be an e-mail support buddy with you, if you'd like. Feel free to read my profile. Have you gone to any support group meetings? Park Ridge has one twice a month starting at 7:00 and they are open for people from all hospitals. If you're interested, please let me know and I'll give you the dates - I'd even meet up with you if you'd like. Take care and hopefully will talk to you soon. Cindee 310/234/?
