Calcium Citrate

So, I went for my 1 month visit the other day and my doc took me off Viactiv and onto Citracal, because he said our bodies absorb calcium citrate better. Well, those pills are HUGE!!!!! I even cut them in half and couldn't get them down. I am supposed to take 4 a day, and I just don't see how that's going to happen. Had anybody found a calcium citrate supplement that is small and easy to swallow?????????? Erin

HEY ERIN! glad your 1 month visit went okay. PER my surgeon i am to take extra strength tums for all my calcuim needs. SO far i am having no trouble .... Dont know if that helps you they are chewable. I like the tropical flavored ones the regular flavor ones I dont care for at all. DONT know if that helps! LISA

I could not believe how BIG those pills are!!! I havent had any problems swallowing them but then again I am almost 9 months out. I like them so much better than the Viactiv chews!! I have 1 3/4 packages of the Viactiv chews. If anyone is interested in them....I will sell them to you.... am not looking for alot of $$$. I bought them for $22 at Costco. I use citrical and upcald powder (in my shales) he is right calcium citrate is absorbed better, calcium carbonate need acidc environment an our pouches have no/little acid in them, so viactiv or tums or any calcium carbonate product (99%of the types out there) is a waste of money, bones and can add to kidney stones!
