I could never understand why you had to follow a diet before surgery. That is why we wanted the surgery to start with, because we couldn't follow a diet. I did it to and I am sure you will make it, this is something you really want, I know you can do it. Linda 273/163/150

Hi Linda, The doctor and the nurse explained to me that they want to make sure that whoever has the surgery will be able to stick by the diet before and after. They screen the patients to find out who qualifies. Maybe it is something that only this doctor does. He told me that he knows I won't be able to keep the diet because if I could I wouldn't need the surgery. He explained that this surgery is not the fix all, it can be defeated. He said it will help me to stay eating right. But he says that right now I'm a high risk for surgery so I need to lose a bit before he will do it. Thanks for the support.. debby

Debby , I know how hard it is for you. Everyone here does ! I need to lose weight too! I have to go on Medifast shakes for 2 months prior to having my surgery. I have to lose 32 lbs. My fear is that it will be more then 32 lbs. by the time I actually start the Medifast as my weight is steadily climbing ! I have been doing alot of stress eating these past few months and have gained alot of weight! I need to start trying to lose some or at least maintain what I weigh now , before going on the Medifast but I have been so stressed that it just doesn't seem to be happening ! We can do this though ,I know we can ! So hang in there and follow the Dr.'s orders and your weight will come off so you can get that surgery soon ! Take Care, and , Carol
