I went to visit LisaMarie this afternoon. She is doing so awesome for someone who had major adbominal surgery only a day ago. She was up walking, sitting, talking, and smiling. she was having having some battle w/the nausea but she thinks it was the pain drip doing it to her so she stop the meds. She stopped feeling so nauseous but started having a really bad headache. She just really wants to get out of that hospital and go home. She said her surgeon might even discharge tomorrow! I hope she is feeling better now. She is so brave, sweet and optimistic! Anyway, I have decided not to talk about my battle w/my medical problems publicly on here anymore. It is nothing personal or against anyone but after this new GI doctor visit, I am keeping my business off of here. The reason why I posted this so late is my son has been sick off and on the last couple of weeks. I have taken him to see his doctor a few times and all of those times they said they really dont think its anything but a cold. While I was at the GI dr. and in the city my mother was watching my son. She knew I was busy so she didnt want to call. When I got home my mom said my sons temp. was 104 and he wasnt eating/drinking anything all day and throwing up all over. I said enough is enough and I took him to the urgent care center at this childrens hospital right here and they did a X-Ray of his chest. He has extensive pneumona in his right lung and some forming in his left. They said he does seem dehydrated. They gave me a RX for an antibotic to give him tonight and first thing in the morning and told me to see his dr. tomorrow morning and gave me the copy of the X-ray to show him. They said it would be up his dr. if he should be admitted or not tomorrow. They said if his fever doesnt go down and he is still throwing up(especially the antibotics) then they probably will admit him and give him a IV drip of it. I am so worried to death b/c pneumonia is the thing that really almost killed me and my son is only 3! Problems like this make my stupid gastric bypass problems so meaningless, you know? I did this to myself, my son didnt. I am just so annoyed that his doctor didnt send him for an X-ray before. I say shame on them. I am really beginning to lose respect for the medical community. They tonight said it looks like its been "growing". My son is 3, horrible! So I am not sure what they will tell me tomorrow so if I disappear do not think I'm dead! Take care and say a little prayer for my son. Thanks. Tavia

Tavia, I know if I say don't worry to much you won't listen since your a mom. This happens alot to children, colds just manifest into pnemonia overnight. This happened to my older daughter around 9 years ago when she was barely 1 year old. Let's be greatful they caught it and can take care of it with antibiotics. My thoughts and prayers are with you, everything will be okay. Pat

Tavia, I hope your little one is able to keep the antibiotic down. Kids are really resilient, and he will bounce back in no time with the medicine, but its really scary for us moms. I understand about keeping your medical problems off the boards. Keep us updated! Linda

Hi Linda, I took my son to his dr. this morning and they conformed the pneumonia on the Xray. He also gave me another perscription anitbotic b/c he said amoxiccllin(what they gave me last night) was not strong enough for the extend his pneumonia is at now and he wondered why he wasnt called about this last night from urgi center. My son really fought me early this morning on getting it down. I am pretty sure not much went down. It went mostly all over his clothes and he threw up whatever did go down. You know how kids this age get when it comes to medicine and doctors, ugh. My son just sees a bottle of advil and screams like i about to poison him. His doctor just walks in the room and he hits/kicks bloody murder. So this new antibotic cost an arm and a leg but he only needs to take it for 2x for 5 days then they will do a repeat Xray to see whats going on. He also said he would hate to do this but if he doesnt get much of this new antibotic down he is going to admit him just so he can get it through the IV so it doesnt spread anymore. Well that is that news. He is taking a nap now from being awake numerous times last and and getting up really early. Maybe after he gets some sleep in he will be alittle easier to handle taking this stuff down. wish me luck! Tavia

Oh poor baby, I hope that he will be feeling better. I have a 10 year old and a 5 year old, so I know the battle of giving and them getting their meds. When my daughter was 18 months she was in NICU with Meningitis, she did not respond for 2 days. She is totally fine and healthy and fortunately had no brain damage. I will pray for your little guy...... Gail
