Please keep my husband Michael in your prayers. He had RNY surgery today. It started out Lap, but then the doctor had to open him up. He's in a lot of pain. I tried to emphasize to him to keep his spirits up, but after 4 hours of surgery and 2 hours in recovery there wasn't a lot of happy thoughts in his life.

thank you so much. I spoke with his nurse this morning and he had a better night. Then I spoke with him and he is starting to feel better. His spirits sound better too. I was just so stressed out yesterday and last night. We arrived at the hospital at 6 in the morning. He went into surgery 2 hours later. He was in surgery for 4 hours and then recovery for 2. Then I stayed at the hospital with him for 7 hours after recovery. Then drove home 2 hours in the dark and the rain. Then I had to explain to the children what was happening with their daddy. Needless to say by the time I posted I was at the end of sanity. One good thing though - I lost 4 pounds yesterday.

Thanks for your prayers. I think he will recover quick. He's strong like a bull and stubborn like an ox. After speaking to him this morning I'm not as worried about him. I'm still worried, but last night I had terrible nightmares about something happening to him.

My Thoughts are with you and your Husband. I had my surgery with Dr. Artuso and he is the best at what he does! Things will get better! Keep those spirits up! Kimberly 238/165/150

Thank you for your thoughts. They are truly appreciated. Dr. Artuso and his new associate Dr. Choi are very good. They both calmed me down yesterday when I was starting to get upset. I am thankful for both of them. Usually my spirits are up, but last night was a major test of my faith. Today is a much better day and the days ahead will be much better too.

SORRY his surgery ended up OPEN, i think many of us fear that going into our surgery that that switch will occur. Thanks for the prayers. It's funny b/c I don't remember thinking that my surgery would end up open. The doctor had mentioned that it "might" happen, but he really didn't think so. I had put the thought out of my head. Yesterday when Michael's surgery went longer then expected I was thinking death. I often go to extremes when it comes to my husband. Never did I think that they had to open him. Of course after surgery I was like OK that makes total sense.

KENDRA i recall it for me clearly. DIDNT realize you had sugery too thats wonderful. I was at high risk to be a change over surgery because of my build. MAJORITY of my wieght was in that middle stomach area and my surgeon thought i was going to be a difficult surgery. HE even cleared more time in the OR for me thinking i was gonna take more time and change from the LAP TO open. BUT i was fine and all the worry was for nothing. I was LAP after all. GLAD your doing well... and those prayers have been done! GOOD LUCK LISA
