Hi Melissa, Congratulations!!!!, will u sleep tonight? maybe not, but thats okay. I had my surgery on 10/26/05 and I'm already home 5 days and I feel great. I lost approximately 15lbs and I have my first check up on 11/03/2005. Before you know it, you will be in the recovery room. I must emphasise that you WALK. Have family and your best friend come over and walk. I got lucky that there was another woman who had surgery right after me and we began walking together. The fluid u drink to check if there is any leakage is nasty. but its over before u know it. Go girl and let me know how things went after you get home. Maria

Melissa, our prayers are with you and your surgical team. The time will fly by and then you are awake (at least that's how I envision it ) At Mercy Medical where I will have my surgery on 11/7, they don't allow cell phones so if you can bring one then go for it! Walk and breath, walk and breath...Best wishes. linda

Melissa, I wish you a very smoothe surgery, and an even smoother recovery. As for what to bring to the hospital, just yourself, and maybe a change of clothes and underwear. The whole time I was there, all I did was sleep, and when I wasn't sleeping, they had me up walking around the halls. You can bring your cell phone if you think you're gonna wanna be conversating on the phone, but I doubt it. I wish you the very best of luck on your surgery, and on the rest of your journey. Hugs, Blanquie My thoughts will be with you.
