Sometimes I worry.... that something will go wrong!
Yes, Sometimes I worry... I worry because , and this may sound really stupid, I feel fine! I am almost five weeks out and I eat foods without any trouble (chicken, lamb, salmon, tuna soups, strawberries, bananas, crackers, cheese etc.,). I do eat slowly and I eat small portions and I feel fine. No , barfing , no sleepyness, no fainting no bad reactions at all!
The worse thing that happened to me --at the very beginning --was that I had a bad case of the "runs". But as soon as I started eating real food again ( I Had to do the two-week pre-op liquid diet) ,I became nice and regular. and oh yes , I get tired out easily.
No pain, no complaints--I lose about a half a pound a day, on average. I don't feel all that hungry--I guess that I should be celebrating--But I worry that something will go wrong and I will be able to eat everything and start gaining weight again!
Honestly, if it wasn't for the tiny little laproscopic scars on my tummy--I would think that I hadn't had surgery at all
I read about all the complications that people have--and believe me , I am very thankful that I am NOT experiencing complications. But, I would like to know that I am okay --not going to fail! It is a little scary after all the bad things I've heard. Am I in the Majority--or the Minority
I thank the Good Lord that I feel the way I do
so I would just like a little reassurance that I'm not alone!
Be Blessed,
Marian S.C.
Marian,
I have a friend that is just like you and may god bless both of you and the rest of us. I HOPE to be just as lucky as you and my friend after surgery. It would be a safe guess to say that as long as you eat your protein 1st and take in all your fluids and vitamins and exercise, you won't gain your weight back. My girlfriend is 2 years post op and doing great. Never dumped on anything and every now and then she eats a real chocolate bar. All I can say is that you are a text book case of what we all wish for each other.
Best to you and keep up the great work
Patty
Hi Marian
Believe it or not but I am just like you! I weigh myself daily and worry about every meal portion I eat wondering if it is more than I should be eating, as I am now over a year out. I too no longer get sick, although I will start yawning, hiccupping, when I know that I am at my limit and should stop. Other than this, I too would not know I had the surgery because I do not dump easily. I guess after being heavy we will worry about this for the rest of our lives. I like the clothes I am in now--size 12--and the fact that I can pick something up off the rack and know that it will fit and even look good. Try not to stress too much--we have a whole lifetime ahead of us for this!
Hugs
Marianne
Thanks--At least I am not the only one who is going through this. I feel really silly at times..But I want this to work --It is my last and best chance for a healthy life. --Not to mention the fact that I wouldn't mind looking good and getting into nice clothes that would make me feel good!
be blessed

Marian,
I can relate to what you sorry about, everyone here knows that I worry about EVERYTHING.. So yes I do worry about that as well, it is always in the back of my mind. I know as times goes by you can eat more food and I notice that with myself already and that scares me. Nothing is stopping me from eating 1 oz of any form of chips and I have to think about it all the time. I give myself that oz at times but I am so scared of it creeping back in and I will do this every day! I would like to think my thinking has changed but it is really scary.
I guess we have to just put this in Gods hands and hope he will see us through..... I work at thinking positive every day and that is all we can do... ~hugs~ Know you are NOT alone.....

Good morning Marian,
You are NOT alone.
I'm 5 months post-up and nothing bothers me either unless I eat too fast. The only thing that every bothered me was catsup and that was right at the beginning. I have not tried eating anything with "sugar" (desserts, candy, ice cream etc.) - not interested in dumping. I don't worry anymore, worrying doesn't solve anything for me, so I just take each meal as it comes and give thanks that I don't get sick.
I am so thankful for the WLS and would do it all over again tomorrow. I FEEL GREAT.
Have a wonderful day.
