Question

Does anyone out there have experience with post bariatric plastic surgery and the policy of their New York based (or tri-state) insurance company? I would like to know what i am up against and can you recommend any doctors that were helpful with this administrative undertaking. thanks. Janene, Queens, NY Post-op since 4/04, from 217 to 157 lbs. I see that you have Oxford. So do I. I had a tummy tuck with 3 hernias repaired this past February. They did not cover the tummy tuck. It would only be covered if the surgery was medically necessary. You would have to show rashes (documented with doctor's visits, pictures and prescriptions for the rashes) or back pain and that would have to be documented with doctor's visits. Dr. B. Donald Sklansky did my surgery. He's located in Great Neck on Northern Blvd. I'm very satisfied with the results. Joanne
