Need a hobby, got any suggestions?

I'm one week post-op and I'm bored out of my mind at home. I'm NOT a big TV watcher. I love the internet and I'm a major computer junkie (got 2 desktops downstairs and my laptop by my bed) but how much web surfing and on-line shopping can a gal do? My son suggested I go on msn.com and play games, but that's not really my thing either. I DID however go on-line and order a couple of books (romance novels of course) from the TOP 10 best seller list... that should amuse me for a day or two. Oh and I joined blockbuster on-line last month and have already watched about 10 DVD's. So if you know of a good movie, send me the title so I can add it to my on-line QUE! One of my friends suggested knitting, but I've tried that in the past and it's not my thing... She said she might come over and teach me how to crochet or cross stitch, I'm desperate so I said OK! I took 4 weeks off from work but at this point I'm thinking of going back a week early, part-time (then back to full-time). I don't think I want to jump back in full-time just yet. I have plenty of energy now that I'm home doing nothing, but I'm sure that will change when I start back into my normal routine again. I guess I'm feeling remarkably well (which is a good thing) and not needing naps during the day because I sleep well at night. I had no pain after my surgery and have not been on any meds other than my pepcid and my vitamins. I really think the fact that I was working out for 4 years prior to this surgery has helped my energy quite a bit (I always said I was the fittest fat person I knew) or maybe I just got lucky! I'm looking forward to getting back to the gym, maybe after my post-op appointment next week! So if you have any suggestions on how to amuse myself, please pass them along! Thanks, Vi

Violet, Hello hun and congrats on your surgery. ~hugs~ I know it can get crazy being home with nothing to do. I was home for 3 weeks and then went back to work part time for the next week which helped alot. I just could not do the full time right away. I guess I mostly relaxed while being at home, some computer stuff and also coloring. I got a coloring book and my crayons, I was all set but I found it to be borning after the first picture. Hun I wish you the best ~hugs~ Debra P 285/202/125??

I guess that's my problem, being such a computer geek, I do everything on the computer! Thanks for the suggestion! Vi

I actually would go out for movies or plays--- I also went to the gym and just walked on the treadmill to get out of the house.

Have you read any of these books: "the stand" "bag of bones" "the dubliners" "portrait of a young artist" "the davinci code" "lolita" "the unbearable lightness of being" "the razors edge" all really good books yet all so very different. I can think of some more if you want more names, just email me! Tavia
