Anyone with IBS before surgery...................

Has anyone had gastric bypass that had IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) before surgery?? And if so, how did it effect you?? I have IBS and am scheduled for surgery 11/03. I can control mine with meds, and i do fine. I see alot of you have problems with constipation, (the opposite of my problem), so i figure it may be the cure for that. Oh well, thanks for any input!!! Lisa, Hun I had IBS begore surgery and it has been corrected now since. There are times when I am stressed that it shows its head but other then those times I feel good to regular. I do take 1 Benefiber chewable a day to help with constipation, which I never had prior but that is not a problem. It is funny because I posted the same question before my surgery, all is fine. I was not on meds for this at the time of surgery, though I was for a little time back when I was going through some major stress in my life but after that time I did not need any meds. It really controled me, where I went, how long I was gone but I am free of that worry now! I wish you all the best hun ~hugs~ Debra P 285/202/125??

I hope that happens to me...................i can't imagine life without IBS, mine mostly shows it's ugly head when i am really stressed out. LOL like the night before and day of surgery!!!! Oh well, we'll get through it!!! Thanks for your input!!! LISA
