Erin I have Dr O'Malley who is in the same office and from the day I made my appointment to the day of surgery it was a bit over a year. I know it seems like along time, but you go through sooo many emotions and thoughts throughout this process that I welcomed the year wait. I knew that in the ned when that day came I was 200% ready for the way my life was going to change !! Good Luck and I hope you find the answers you are searching for, I have heard Dr. Boss's office is not as booked as Dr O'Malleys so perhaps your wait wont be ASSS long, but I would look towards a year by the time you get all the things in you need to have done. Good Luck Brenny

Erin- I had Dr. Boss, will be one year ago in November. I made the call in April of 2004 and had surgery in November 2004. Now I am one of the exceptions. First of all I had called Dr. O'Malley and the wait for the group seminar was 7 months. I had my group seminar with Dr. Boss in July. Psych consult in August, dietician in September, one on one at the end of September and we scheduled surgery for November 15th. I could have had surgery in October but one of my best friends was getting married in early November. Now with the dietician, alot of people have to go 2 or 3 times before getting cleared. Thankfully I only had to go once. So yes I would plan on a good 9 months from your group consult, if it happens sooner then GREAT!!!! Good luck on your journey. Feel free to email me anytime with any questions you may have. Janet

Erin, I had my group seminar with Dr. Boss in November of 2004. But the process for me started at the July when I first met with Dr. Boss at the request of my original surgeon.. I had my meeting with the Dietician in early Jan 5, 2005 and again in early Feb 3 2005. (originally scheduled for the end of April 2005. I asked to be put on their cancellation list) Keeping a food dairy of When, Where and What you eat will help when you see the dietician. I had my psych consult Feb 16 and had my one on one with Dr. Boss March 8. I had surgery on March 31 (that was the earliest date). So, it was about 9 months for the whole process. Good Luck on your Journey. Burt

I started the process the end of May 2005 and had surgery on Sept 8 2005. I would have had a longer wait - a lot longer had I not done some traveling. If I had physc eval in Rochester I would have had to wait until Sept so I went to their physc in Buffalo. I had to pay out of pocket $250, but it was worth it. The nutritionist in Rochester also was scheduling in September, so I went to see a nutritionist that he uses in PA. It was about a 3 1/2 hour drive each way, and again I had to pay out of pocket but it was only $45. Micha

I had Dr O"Malley. The longest wait was getting into one of the educational seminars. It was almost eight months from my initial phone call until my seminar in January 2005. I had surgery in April 2005.
