Ok...so I got my preiod in the hospital 2 days after surgery. I was due to get it this past Thursday and I still haven't! I have been 100% regular since I got my first period at age 12 and there is no chance that I am pregnant. Is it normal to skip a period after surgery? Has this happened to anyone else? Erin

Erin, Hun, I got mine the day after surgery and then the next month I missed but been back to regular ever since so that is just your body showing the stresses of surgery I guess. I would not worry unless you miss next month as well. I did read on the main board I think that sometimes after this surgery that the regular people become unregular and the unregular become regular I guess we just have to see what our bodies will do.... I wish you the best. ~hugs~ Debra P

I got my period the day after surgery. It's been an adventure ever since. For 5 months I got it every month. Then one month I hermorraghed (had a uterin biopsy-ouch). Then I didn't get it for 4 months. Then in from April until now I either get it twice in one month or when I get it, it lasts anywhere from 11 to 21 days. Now I just skipped two months and then got it for 17 days. My OB/GYN is sending me for my 4th internal sonogram this year tomorrow. She says I could be pre-menopausal, but who knows. I'm 47 years. Would be nice if it just stopped at this point. I hate having to be so careful all the time, if you know what I mean. Joanne

I have had my period a total of 3 or maybe 4 times since my initial surgery back in Feb. One time was the day of my gallbladder surgery. That was fun. I have been told it is normal for your period to get "messed" up after a major surgery b/c your body gets thrown off/goes into shock. I guess I am not the best example b/c so much is/was going on w/me but you can always go see your ob/gyn if it concerns you too much.

ITs definitely a truth as im very irregular PCOS...and since surgery im either early (a first for me) or on time 28 days to the day. MY cycles are not as heavy now as the first 2 months post op. ITS a truth but in a few months time we all will be normal and regular just have to put up with it some! GOOD LUCK! ITS annoying LISA
