bathroom question.

Good Morning everyone, I know I know its personal but hey it's seems after this surgery nothing is off topic anymore. So how many times a day to you go number two? What form usually is it? Very solid, sem-soft, loose, liquid etc. Somedays I go three times. Then I have the days when I have the runs and I go at least 10 times. Yesturday was one of those. Those days are not fun. I had an appt w/my GI doctor yesturday. I dred seeing him b/c usually he sticks something in me if its not down the mouth, its up the backside. Mind you I have an allergic reaction to the twlight anthesia they give you for endoscopies and colonscopies, so I have to do those fully awake. On that note, he did a rectual exam on me. He wants me have an colonscopy done soon. I knew that was coming. Like I havent had enough tests/stuff done to me. Now I am have to get a tube up the butt. Lord help me. On the lighter side, my husband is so funny. He took the day off today so he's home. He just walked into room and said my hair looks like Nick Noltes mugshot. Pardon me for not showering yet! Tavia

Good Morning Sunshine, It sounds like you have too much time on your hands!!! Just kidding. It does sound like you're going a little too much. I know you're not eating much, but what are you eating. Joanne, I have tired cutting things out to see if its the problem like coffee, dairy, some veggies. It doesnt seem to matter. Oh well. I can deal w/poppy problems this is nothing. Take care.

TAVIA, HEY GIRL, I now have a problem since I started Iron. I take Colace twice a day & still have problems going everyday. I had to have my endoscopy without anesthesia & he dilated my stricture while I was awake! Never again! Nowonder you're Dr Gellman's #2 patient Linda

You can understand why I gringe at just the sight of my GI doctor. Most of my time spend w/him has been him shoving the scope down me while I lie there thinking 'happy thoughts'. The only good thing out of that is he tells me what he is seeing while he is doing it and I can see the screen. I have had a handful of endoscopies done w/out the anesthesia. Why didnt they give you anesthesia anyway? Ick Tavia

Tavia, Because it was an emergency, scheduled while I was at work in Rockland Co. & I drove straight to Manhattan. I had noone to drive me home so they wouldn't sedate me. Even MY gastroenterologist said if he told you its not bad, ask him if he wants to try it! Linda

Tavia, Hun nothing is over the top anymore.. I go every morning and somtimes 2 times before work (when I am stressed) but for the most part it is every morning after I start to eat something to get my system going. Been pretty regular since I started taking 1 chewable Benefiber each morning, it really does help so much. Well best of luck hun, I still can not believe you are having to deal with MORE stuff.... Why does he want you to do this? does he think that there is a problem there as well? Debra P 285/207/125??

Deb, He says wants to rule out IBS, IBD, dyspepsia, and bacterial growth. He was mumbling other conditions but I wasnt listening too hard. I really do not want to hear any of that, you know. He says he cant make me do anything. If I dont want to do the colonscopy he understands my frustration w/all of these tests/tubes in me and how its hard for me( b/c I cant have the twlight), but recommends that I have it done from a medical standpoint. He then goes on to say he would give me some "relaxing" drugs to help ease the pain/discomfort during it. Can you image I probably will be singing or asking for hugs. Anyway,He took a sample of my you know what when he did the rectual exam and will test for something or other. Thanks for much for your support, deb. You see how I am not rushing to the phone to set-up my colonscopy appt. I am going ask Dr.Gellman on monday what he thinks about doing an colonscopy. But I know what he's going to say. Ick. Tavia

Hey all, Since the surgery I have been the opposite of everyone here.... I can't go... sometime I go a few days without going. And when I do it takes a long time. I tried prune juice but that just hurt my tummy..... then I tried a fleet because I didn't wait to take a pill. I hoping when I get down to eating more it will be able to go a little more.

What worked for me was milk of magnesia. Try it, it might work. If you go more than 2 or 3 days without going, I would call the doctor. I'm sure he can suggest something else or write a prescription. Joanne
