Hello, All - I had my first post-op checkup yesterday...my weight on surgery day was 316...yesterday I weighed in at 298.7! It's been a long time since I started with a "2", so I'm very pleased. I feel mostly very good - once in a while my energy just drains out of me, but every day is better. I'm getting in my protein and my water. I can now sleep through the night in bed - and even slept on my stomach for the first time last night! That's a big help to me...I've always fallen asleep on my stomach or side, and found it miserable trying to fall asleep on my back. So far my only real complication has been my upper left incision became infected. It finally burst early this week - boy, was that shocking! It POURED out. Yesterday my surgeon cleaned it out a tiny bit, but mostly it had already taken care of itself. I go back to work next week - I'm going to need to set reminders to eat and drink, I can tell. Once I'm concentrating on something other than my recovery, I can tell it will be very easy to forget. So far I am very pleased, and do not regret having the surgery at all. I've been very lucky. Hope you're all doing well this beautiful, sunny day! Regards, Mary Mc Lap RNY 327/316/298.7/1??

Mary, That is great news ! Sorry to hear that your incision got infected but I am glad that you are okay and that it did not cause you any serious complication ! Congrats on being in the 2-hundreds ! You'll be saying your in the onderland in no time ! Good luck to you with the rest of your journey and also with those reminders to eat and drink when going back to work !! Take care.... & Carol

Mary, CONGRATS on your weight loss hun I know it feels so awesome. I wish you all the best in your weight loss and I am glad that your incision is doing good now. I had to keep watch of the clock when I went back to work because the next thing I know it is lunch and I did not eat a snack yet. I try to do protein every 3 hrs or so.... Wish you the best and keep up the great work... ~Hugs~ Debra P 285/207/125??

Thanks, Deb! Yeah, I'm concerned about the protein, and even more concerned about the water...it's never come naturally to me to drink enough H2O. Take care, Mary

Mary, Well for me it was easy to get the water in because I have a desk job which I just leave the water bottle top off and sip, sip, sip but some days are hard I have to say. It will get easier for you over time hun, you will see. I know I was wanting water so much right after surgery and that is all I drank, now I have crystal light but I try to get the 64oz in with water only and THEN I have the crystal light as a treat (adding liquids) but once again sometimes it does not work that way. Well take care ~hugs~ Debra P 285/207/125??
