Carol, Not me but you do have to watch for things that say sugar free, they contain sugar alcohols which are bad for us, I try to stay below 4 grams of those but I do not think the sugar substitutes have them. I always use Spenda when I can and it is just in tea.... I hope that helps some... ~hugs~ Debra P

Deb, When determining how many grams of sugar is in something that we are allowed to eat that is per serving ....Right? Sop you are only eating a serv. at that time right? It does not mean that the 4 or 6 grams of sugar that is allowed is the total for our whole day...Does It? Sounds dumb......I mean that question . I would probably normally figure out that answer on my own but my mind is so maxed with stress now that it only comes up BLANK!!!! Thanks Deb and yes this does help! & Carol

Carol, Hun it is per serving, and I only eat what the serving size says at this point. I am not sure how much in grams for the whole day but you will find out what works for you per serving. Some people can take more surgar and surgar alcohols then others That is the scary thing, trial and error, hate the error part. I know for me I have the Bryers Carb Ice cream and it has 4 grms of sugar alcohols and 3 grms of sugar but if I eat the 1/2 cup serving my pouch feels sick after. So now I just take a table spoon at a time and it taste really good to me. Now mind you I was an ice cream addict, it was the real stuff to, not this fake stuff. Let me know if that explains it better? ~Hugs~ Debra P

Deb, Yea, I see what your saying ! I guess I will just have to wait and see whether or not or should I say how much of this my pouch will take. I am sure I will hate the error part as well. Thanks Deb... & , carol

Deb Me too, when I have the Breyers carb control creamcicles, I'm fine. If I have the icecream from the 1/2 gallon, and have the normal serving I dump from the sugar alcohol. I usually use Splenda myself. I just bought Nectar Fuzzy Navel flavor, but I want to try it in orange juice. Have you, or anyone else tried it? Linda

Hi Carol - I know one person that can't tolerate any of the artificials, I'm not sure if she's tried stevia yet, which is a more natural artificial (lol), but they all make her so she has to avoid them - made finding a protein shake a real joy, because most of them have some form of artificial in it. I try to keep total sugar grams at any one time UNDER 15g to limit dumping, now of course, that doesn't always work.. When I get into too much of certain sugar alcohol things, I end up with a sour pouch, tastes like acid reflux, so I try to NOT get into it too much (like msmoozy, usually more than 1/2 cup of the sugarfree icecreams which I should avoid anyways, but.. ). Are you having issues with them, or just wondering? ...N

Nick, I am not having issues yet with them and I hope that I never do ! I haven't had my surgery yet . I met with my surgeon and he said to stay away from sugar subs. and sugar after my surgery. Well I knew that sugar would be a problem for sure.. but I didn't think sugar subs. would ! I know that I have read alot of peoples post's on the OH board and most people don't have any problems with the substitutes, so I figured I would ask you all about it . Thanks Nick for your input. I really appreciate it. & Carol
