Hey everyone! I hope all is doing well.. I have a question, that I hope someone can help me with. I just moved back up here (Albany area) from Virginia Beach. My husband is deployed for a year. I was scheduled to get surgery in VA, but I was unable to because of family problems. I am now here, and ready to go again, but every place is telling me I have to start over, with tests, etc. This is fine, I just dont know where to go... Every place I have called has been in NYC, or Syracuse, etc. Does anyone know of any places near the Albany/Lake George area? I live in Glens Falls and will be willing to travel up to 2 hours in any direction. I have a daughter, so anything further than that will be difficult. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks!!!

Nicole - I just sent you an email with more detail, but the ones I know/know of in the area from Albany to Utica are: Dr. William Graber (Utica) - RNY, Lap - works with Faxton-St Lukes in Utica Dr. Carl (?) Rosati - Albany area - RNY, open I think Dr. (?don't know first name) Singh - Albany - RNY Lap Dr. Lirio - Schenectady - RNY OPEN (only open) There's another one in the Utica area at St Elizabeths Medical Center - Dr Graneiro; some people like him, some don't - last I knew he was only doing OPEN RNY. I chose Dr. Graber for my surgery, even after moving to the Albany area before I was able to have my surgery, but that's a little farther than you really wanted to travel, I think. I'm not sure about all the wait times for the above, nor whether any of these will make you start completely over or not. Good luck. ...Nick

Hi Nicole, I chose Dr. Lirio out of Schenectady area. I have an hour drive to get to him but he's worth it ! I haven't had my surgery yet but have met with him and also have spoken to many of his patients and all of them love him! He has been doing this surgery for over 25 years. Very Experienced ! He only does the open procedure though. There is another Dr. in the same area as him and he does the laproscopic procedure. His name is Dr. Clarke They say he is very good also. I know Dr. Lirio works out of Ellis Hospital and I think it is St. Peters hospital as well. As far as Dr. Clarke I am not sure except I know he works out of Ellis Hospital. Ther is also another Dr. in the Albany area. His name is Dr. Singh they say he is good also. He works out of Albany Medical Center and I think somewhere else too. I wish you luck with everything! Hope this helps, Take Care, Carol

Hi, I am going with Dr Singh at Albany Med.I have heard so many wonderful things about him. They start you with the screening process and I have not met with him yet. They guide you through the entire process step by step. Dr. Singh also operates at St Peter's hospital as well as Albany Med. You have a choice of hospitals. Good Luck to you! Janet
