alcohol tolerance?

Ok I have a question for you post-ops...what is your alcohol tolerance level? One glass of wine, two? Hard alcohol? Beer? My surgeon gave me a warning about drinking alcohol. He told me I will get drunk ALOT faster than I did before. Mind you, when I was in college I used to drink alot, so I kind of dismissed this fact. Well, a couple of months ago I had one GLASS of white wine and I blacked out after it. My husband said that I got so drunk that I was trying to go pee-pee in the kitchen garbage pail and was singing songs, then passed out and went to sleep! Oh my gosh, can you believe that I got that that drunk after one glass of wine?!?! I am so glad that happened at home than in some social situation! So embarassing! Tavia

H Tavia, How are you feeling? I am alergic to any form of alcohol--I don't even use cough drops that contain Alcohol. So I imagine that if I did try a glass of anything alcohol --I would be as bad off as you were. Be Blessed, Maarian S.C.

Tavia, I maybe had 5 beers a year so I was not much of a drinker to begin with and now I am so nervous to touch any. I would be wild if I had some I think. Well I hope someone can tell you how it went for them because I would like to hear about it as well. Take care Debra P 285/208/125??

i hope your feeling better......as for alcohol......i wasnt one who drank too much....once in a while i like my whiskey sours or apple martini's............but now all i can say........if i go to a wedding i make sure its on the rocks and just have maybe 2 sipps--if that helps-

HI TAVI HOW ARE YOU? JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE TRIED ALCOHOL I HAD VODKA WITH CYSTAL LIGHT LEMONADE IT WAS GOOD I CAN TELL YOU THAT I WAS BUZZED AFTER THAT ONE DRINK. I ALSO LAST WEEKEND HAD 2 SHOTS OF JACK DANIELS WHICH HAD ME STUPID. BEFORE MY SURGERY I WAS ABLE TO HOLD MY OWN WHEN IT CAME TO DRINKING IT WOULD TAKE ALOT TO GET MY DRUNK. BUT NOW IT'S SO WIERD I JUST CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE AND FUNNY THING I DON'T EVEN MISS IT WELL I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.. TAKE CARE NICOLE 337/260/?????

Hey Tavia, I used to be able to drink but I am now only able to handle one drink and it feels like three used feel before I have switched to bartles and james wine coolers it gives me a comfortable buzz without getting drunk and wild

Hi Tavia I hope you are doing well......as for me I was a big time drinker before surgery and was never drunk......big time drinker due to depressed about me......but my last drink was New years then I had surgery Jan 31st......about 1 month ago I hosted a party and I decided to have a drink well I got a quick buzz....but as fast as the buzz came was as fast as the buzz went......so I had about 10 drinks but I hope nobody is listening........and it was just like it was for me before surgery.....never been drunk......and to tell you the truth I didn't stick to one drink I had apple martini's, I made a punch, and beer and margaritta's so I was very bad that day......but I was not drunk......just remember everyone is different our bodies react different......but there no saying that the next time I try something like that that is wouldn't effect me....cause you know that what you can have today doesn't mean your pouch will take tomorrow.....and just because you can have it doesn't mean you should have it..... Glad you were home for hat experience......but it can also be a reaction from all that you were going through too,.....hopefully when you are well and the doc's correct your complications you will be able to tolerate 1 glass of wine just drink it very slow.....
