Legg pain?
I have had bad varricose veins for over 25 years. I have made up my mind to have the RNY surgery, since my insurance does not cover Lapband. One of the main reasons for the surgery is because I have venus reflux disease. I have had terrible pain for years. I cannot get the surgery to correct the problem because thet would not be able to thread a wire into the groin area due to the fact they cannot get to the groin area, due to the size of the panis. My worry lies in the fact I lay awake every night and wonder if I am not a candidate for this surgery due to these veins. I fear blood clots. I have had doppler tests in the past but were never informed if I would be at greater risk due to them.Has anyone outthere had weightloss surgery while having bad veins? I feel so alone with this infliction. Kathleen

Kathleen,
Hun I do not have the varricose veins problem but I am sure others might be able to help you with that questions or you can post to the main board also, so many people are around there so you might be more replys..
I would really ask your surgeon or PCP about the risks with that, they would tell you what they are. Hun take your time and research this, surgery is an awesome tool to lose weight but you really have to be sure and weigh all your options and risks. Only you can make that choice to have surgery. I wish you all the best in what every you do. ~Hugs~ Please keep us posted..
Take care
