Hello again all.. ~hugs~ Hubby and I went to Sam's club today after he got off from work to pick some things up, there was a package of cat litter that weighed 50 Lbs and some cat food that weighed 25 lbs. I could not really lift the 50 and my hubby looked at me and said......try and carry these 2 together, that is what you lost.......75 lbs....well I tried and it was so very hard, It made me really SEE what I have lost!!!!! the weight that I was carrying and the strain on my body every day.... WOW.... Well I just wanted to share that with all of you, it sure makes you think....try and lift something that weighs what you lost. It sure makes you think. Also if your pre-op think about those bags next time you are out shopping.... take care all... Debra P 285/209/125??

Wow Debra, What a cool moment uh? You deserve it! Because you look towards how much you want to lose, you kind of forget how much you actually did, right? Its such an acomplishment! Keep in mind, most peole would kill for the kind of weight loss you have had and are going to continue to have! Keep it up!!! Tavia

Tavia, Yeah I was sure blessed to be able to have this surgery I have to say hun. I am so thankful every day! yeah it you look at the total number you have to lose at the start to can get overwhelming but the smaller goals and mini goals makes it doable... Take care hun Debra P

Dear Debra -- that's a wow moment for sure. I guess we don't really realize what the extra weight does to our bodies. I'm so happy for you and glad you are doing well. Congratulations! My surgery got pushed up 1 week -- it was supposed to be this Monday 10/17, but dr. had an emergency and won't be available -- so it is now scheduled for 10/24. Things happen for a reason -- looking forward to joining you on the losing side. Congrats again. Love Debbie

Debbie, Yeah until it is right in my face I really forgot what 75 lbs was like. I am glad I had this to wake me up to it. WOW your surgery is coming soon. Yes you are right about things happening for a reason, sometimes we do not know why but there is a reason. Well hang in there hun and you will be sitting on that losers bench soon. Thanks again ....... ~hugs~ Debra P

/ delurk (grin) Actually, that's one of the things I used to recommend to the support group in the Utica area when people would get down on themselves about not losing "enough" or being in a stall - go get enough big containers of cat litter or some such thing with handles that equal your weight loss (or even just 2 of the 28-30 lb ones - walk just 10-20 feet carrying it, if you can... And think of carrying that around all the time, up and down stairs, etc. And then think of how far you've come... ---------- I thought of it, ironically enough, when carrying in cat litter, cat food, etc from the car into my apartment.. because I'm one of the ones who only have so far lost about 100 lbs since surgery, due in large part to my own love (can you smell the sarcasm) of exercise and not being as "good" as I could be about being strict on the diet.. (different reasons, some situational, a lot because of me). Even with kicking myself on the latter (exercise, lack of strictness), it's hard to believe I've lost that much weight... PS When are you going to update your picture? (grin) (I should talk, although my weight loss hasn't been as much since my last update as yours has) Nick 347/242/165-185ish

Nick, hello hun ~hugs~ thanks for coming out of lurk mode. Yeah it really does make you think twice, sometimes it just does not feel like "that" much but it sure helps when you can see or feel it. Yeah I will work on getting it changed... Hey but I did add new pics to my profile so that is good. Take care hun and have a great night ~Hugs~ Debra P 285/209/125??

WOW is right. What a great inspiration you are. I'm so happy for you. Thanks for posting and telling us about your Sam's Club trip. It does make you stop and think about the added weight we were/are all carrying around, doesn't it? I know I've lost 70 so far and I keep trying to visualize 14 5-lbs bags of sugar/flower. It's really mind boggling to think of all that excess weight and where did it go? Do you have trouble seeing yourself as you weigh now? I do - when I look in the mirror I still see the "larger" me (I still have a ways to go to call myself skinny). I do notice the difference especially in my face when I look at pictures. By the way, I checked out your profile page with the new pictures - you look ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Keep up the good work. Take care and have a great day. Cindee 310/240/?
