Erin,
hello hun ~Hugs~ Well when I went all the guy did was talk to me about the surgery. Making sure I knew the risks and what life would be like after, not that I was going into this blind. That is about it though every phyc is different, some had to do a little test from what I have read just relax and have a great talk with him/her.
I wish you the best. ~hugs~

Hi Erin,
Well, my experience was a little different--I had to fill out a forty page questionaire --and I had an initial interview with the staff psychologist.
Because he felt that I had a difficulty dealing with my weight problems (I had a tendency to exercise excessively if I over ate) --I was referred to a cognative behavioral therapist (12 sessions) . At first I was very upset --but it was the best thing that ever happened to me!!
--I went to the twelve sessions and then I continued to see the psychologist weekly --I have come to find that I can work out problems that have nothing to do with food--and yet they influenced my life and caused me to over eat.
Also I find that now that my surgery has been completed , I need to talk to someone to help me learn to live this new life style--after all I have lost a "friend" FOOD!--
Just answer the questions --no matter what they are--honestly. That is the best advice that anyone can give!
Be Blessed.
