GRANTS

HAVE ANY OF U EVER APPLIED FOR A GRANT AND ACTUALLY RECEIVED IT??? I BE SEEING ALL THESE TV ADS AND MAGAZINE ADS TALKING ABOUT GRANTS U CAN GET IF U JUST APPLY, BUT WHY ARE THEY WASTING THERE MONEY IF IT AONT TRUE....A FEW YEARS AGO I USE TO TRY TO GET THESE GRANTS BUT NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING........DO U KNOW OF ONE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS??? HOLLA BACK

Hi Cozette I have heard about many grants, but it depends on what type of grant for which you are looking. I mean there are education grants, housing grants, weatherization grants, grants to help with your heating costs. I have some of the websites for agencies in NY, but I am not sure if they assist in other states as well. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. I have applied for some of the grants, but most are based on your income and even though my husband and I are both on Social Security Disability, we do not meet the income requirements so we never get approved for assistance. Most of them don't take into account that we pay $900 per month for our health insurance along with our mortgage and utilities. If you are low income, then the grants are worth looking into.
