no blockage. I have been having some awful pain for the past week. It's under the bottom of my left rib cage. There are times it makes me want to . I called the surgeon and had a ct scan on friday. The radiologist comes in the room, says there's no blockage. I say could it be my gall bladder he mumbles maybe and then says "well i don't see anything wrong with you" and walks away. My surgeon never even calls me. I felt awful all weekend, and the pain is very intense again. Honestly, I have had no problem up until now, this is the first time since surgery I've had to call about anything. Has anyone had this and if so what was it??? Micha

Sorry you're having pain, Micha. Your doc doesn't sound very helpful or sympathetic. For me, the pain meant first an ulcer (I have a history of peptic ulcer from h. pylori) and then later post op it meant gall bladder. I've been pain free now for months (still taking protonix for the ulcer). Find another doc, one who'll listen. Ask for an h. pylori blood test &/or breath test. ANd don't stop asking for help. *Something is going on. You have a right to find out what it is, and to get qualified treatment for it. Don't settle for less. Best wishes! Thank you. I feel awful. After the radiologist on Friday I feel like they think I'm . I have an appointment with the surgeon this week and I will be asking for answers. I believe that pain is your body telling you something is going on. Micha

Was having same kind of pains. CT scans, x-rays showed nothing. Well after being hospitalized for 3 days in August then sent home and coming back in on Saturday 10/1 with the same exact pain only to have test show nothing wrong...my doc (I love him) decided he would go in and take a look with his own 2 eyes. Low and behold, I had surgery on Wednesday. Part of my intestine was attached to my inner stomach wall (scar tissue) which he snipped apart and he also removed that part of my intestine. Got out the hospital on Friday (was in there for a week). I'm doing much better and healing. I have a follow-up with him tomorrow. I look forward to no more pain. Whatever you do...don't stop probing or asking questions. If the doc won't call...you keep calling. He/She will have no choice but to listen. Luckily, my doc did listen the second time around.

Hi Micha, I am sorry you are in pain, trust me I can relate. Oh god can I relate. What brings on the pain, anything? Does eating, lying down, moving, just comes and goes etc bring it on? I completely understand the frustration you feel when the doctors mumble things and shrug their shoulders at you and say "they dont see anything wrong". I have had altogether 10 cat-scans, 8 endoscopies done and nothing was done by those doctors. They shrug their shoulders and mumble like you said. Problems with your gallbladder are usually on the right side(right under your ribs) but it would not hurt for you to have an ultrasound of your abdomen done to check for gallstones and/or inflammation of the gallbladder. Just one of those reasons are enough to get your gallbladder taken out especially being a WLS patient. Also make sure the tech check your apendix too b/c if that goes bad, that can be really serious and it happens pretty quickly. Call your surgeon and make an appointment to see him and tell him to send you for an ultrasound of the abdomen. Things like this sound be taken seriously and no one will take you seriously expect(and hopefully) your surgeon. Dont let them shrug it off as gas w/out getting all of the test done to rule everything out.(which I have had happen to me numberous times) Your surgeon is the only one who you should involve b/c no one else can really help you but him/her. Let me know how it goes. Take care. Tavia

Thank you for your advice. I've really been trying to figure out if it's something I'm eating/drinking etc. Really though I've been on pureed and I haven't changed anything. I do find if I drink anything really cold (this just started) I do get some pain, but it's the "the pain". I've a had my appendix out so we can rule that out. I've thought it might be gas but I don't seem to have any problem "moving gas". I also just for the heck of it have taken gas-x. I'm going to try and hold off calling and just wait for my appointment later this week. I'll let you know what happens. Micha
