Good Morning my NY family Helllo everyone, its been a long time since I last posted. I have to say after reading some posts Congrats on the weight lost , I am pround of each and everyone of y'all!!!! Also congrats on the approvals, and good job on those of you that have taken a step on the road to becoming a healthier new you!!!! I have been dealing with some very taxing and emotional family issues, finding out that I have asthma, plus my back is getting worse. After being denied approval for WLS I became very depressed and heart broken. BUT now I am ready to fight the insurance company and appeal their ruling. I am very lucky that my family is standing behind me and only want what is best for me. I feel very blessed to have my family. As I said I will be appealing the insurance company this week. Preferred Care will not know what hit them after I am done. I know it may not still go my way but I will give them a good fight for what I need. I wanted to say Hi and tell you that I have been thinking about y'all. Keep up all the great work, to all that have just started their journeys stay strong, keep records, and fight for what you want. Set backs makes us stronger . If anyone has any advice on a stronger way to appeal please let me know. Everyone have a great day and enjoy the warm weather before winter is knocking on our doors. Find a reason to smile today, makes the day so much better, Thin wishes and WLS dreams Tammy

Hi Tammy, I know all about being depressed and getting shingles after my denial from PC. I appealed and again denied. I have written so many letters to PC, one to the CEO, Director of Operations and one of the overpaid doctors that denied me and still they are hiding behind the corporate bottom line and not in the business of getting people healthy. I called an attorney and the only option left was to sue them....well with the plan I have and the large deductable, I have paid over $2600.00 out of pocket to get medical clearance for WLS....only to get denied....twice! My latest letter was to Xerox Corp that supplied the insurance, I sent them 28 pages of documentation stating that when I started the process WLS was covered and I met the requirements. Then in April they changed the requirements about attending the one to one program.....well I am not paying them another dime....I've paid enough. There are over 100 patients that have been denied for the surgery that have PC....otherwise called DEFFERRED CARE! My next option it to change insurance....like an a^& after being with the blues for 34 years.....we picked PC for 2005. Thank goodness I have the option to change insurance, those people that don't and if you do the one to one program....there is no guarantee that WLS is covered. All the best to you and write me if you want, I can share all the letters I wrote....even though it didn't do any good....it made me feel a whole lot better! -Lucy PS two weeks ago I was sent a survey from PC.....I was picked at random to participate in the Xerox Health Care Plan customer satisfaction survey!!!! Boy did they pick a good person!!!! I wrote a letter to the Director of Research and let him know how dissatisfied I was, with all the facts....etc.....LOLOLOLOLOLOLO
