I know this is going to sound crazy- but I just don't think that I am losing enough weight. I lost 20 pounds the first week out. Then nothing. I had surgery 9/13 and I have only lost 23 pounds. I know that is actually alot, but I must be doing somethng wrong that I have only lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks. I constantly have water with me, I eat protein in everything that I eat, and I am up and around(not jogging a marathon yet). I am really getting discouraged and nervous that this did not take. Can anyone help? Christine

Christine All I can say is be patient. If you are doing everything you are supposed to be doing then it will work. You have to give your body time to adjust to all the changes that it has undergone. Don't give up, this was not maybe weight loss surgery it is weight loss surgery it works for some even if they do everything wrong so if you are diligent it will work but realize that your body has gone through a lot. I so know it is hard to be patient but come here and talk about it and before you know it the scale will start moving again. Get rid of the scale or pledge to weigh once a month so youdon't become obessessive. Good Luck Tina 330/168/150

Hi Christine!! I know where Madrid is!! I grew up in Massena!!! Welcome to the loser's side. Be sure that you are getting in your 60 ounces of protein and 60-80 ounces of water every day. If you don't meet those minimums, your weight loss could slow down. Are you eating the protein before everything else?? Right now 80-100% of what you eat should be protein. Are you a light weight? (starting at less than 260?) Sometimes lightweights tend to lose slower since they have less to lose. Exercise is good but right now don't over do. Remember to add only 15 minutes more per session until you can handle 60 minutes of exercise at a time. Susan

I was feeling much the same as you are. I lost very slow and my plateaus were weeks where I didn't lose - sometimes even months - but you know what? I hung in there, did what I was supposed to do, and now? I am at goal and feeling terrific. Each person's body is unique and loses at its own pace. Just continue to do what you are supposed to do and you will get the result you hope to get. Good luck and God bless!

Hey Christine - I used to live in Morley and went to college in Potsdam, so I also know where Madrid is (and even how to pronounce it "right" lol). I went through a stall as well after the first 3-4 weeks (and mine lasted about 2 months); don't get discouraged - keep the faith and make small changes to either increase your water or increase your exercise just a little, as others have mentioned, even if it seems like your eyes are floating.. Usually it just takes a little change in one direction or the other to break the stall... but sometimes, it just takes time. Hang in there - ...Nick

You aren't doing anything wrong..every body reacts differently to the shock of surgery..I lost like 23 lbs. the first MONTH and then only 4 lbs the second month. Then it evened out to like 8-12 lbs a month after that..It took awhile but i'm down 120 lbs. It will work for you..just keep doing what you're doing..your body thinks its starving to death and is trying to hold onto every single pound for those lean days ahead..You lose in stair steps..drop..plateau, drop..plateau.. Keep up the good work faith
