Hi All, I am new to the boards. My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday November 2, 2005. I am very excited. I read the boards daily about typically you all are eating daily. Just wanted to get some advise about what are the best foods to eat for the first month and after. I will be on pureed food for at least one month after. Thanks for your replies. Melissa

Hi Melissa, First off good luck with your surgery and keep us posted about everything! I think the stallone pudding are really good. (thanks Joanne) Are they still $1.99 on drugstore.com? I pretty much live off of those things nowadays. I also like cottage cheese, egg drop soup, and really mush eggplant. I am pretty much a expert on pureed foods b/c that is all I could eat. Tavia

Congrats! You learn to get creative and go with what you think your taste can take. I added strawberry protein drinks over Strawberry jello for a treat.. I loved watery oatmeal with protein powder. Slirpy Mashed potatoes with protein powder... SF Chocoalate Pudding and protein powder in blender with ice I make a GREAT CAPPUCINO in the blender- scoop of Hersheys cocoa scoop of protein powder 1 packet splenda a little splash of coffee (decaf) a little skim milk or water 8 cubes... yum if you like coffee I made home made soups and would puree into a cream soup in blender. I ate a lot of creamed soups the 2nd week and drank protein shakes!

Melissa, Hun what I had for the 1st 6 weeks was: sf ice pops Jello Cottage cheese I wish I known about the Stallone pudding then Tuna, chicken and salmon pureed with reduced fat mayo Protein Shakes w/ carb countdown milk Also wish I known about the Carb Countdown choc milk (8 oz = 12 grams protein) Ricotta cheese oatmeal I know there was more but I just can not remember, I have to admit I added some crackers in there as well just because I needed the crunch but that really was not allowed. Well I wish you the best... ~Hugs~ Debra P 285/215/125??
