a friend
Hi there,
I want to say thanks for the replies to my post the other day. I know that the time will go by quickly and before I know it , the 31st will be here.
I was thinking this morning about the surgery and all it will entail (probably spelled that wrong). I have been binging so much lately and I really always have. It is so hard to not do it. I'm realizing that by having the surgery I will be giving up my best friend in a way and that is making me sad. I know how crazy this sounds. What is really killin me is no more chocolate or cookies after surgery. It is gonna be pretty hard to give up these things, but I really really wanna be a loser. I had to go to Indiana the early part of August and I stayed at my sisters house for a few days. She had the surgery a year and a half ago and has lost like 260lbs so far. I went to a support meeting with her and it just inspired me so much. I really do want this, so how am I gonna make it through the rough cravings and the loss. Thanks for listening..
take care and have a good day,

Debby,
I read your post and said, OH MY.... that was me before surgery and let me tell you something, before I was ready I did some thinking and come to realize that the only reason I held off on having the surgery was because I could not eat what I wanted after! I do have to tell you that it was rough at first, I mourned food a while before and after the surgery but once I started to lose weight it was really not a worry any more. I can not explain what happened but you seem to change and want better stuff for you. I know (and keep this in the back of my mind, seems to help) that if I wanted 1 cookie I can have it. I know that any more then that would make me sick so I choose to not have it but I always keep in mind that I can if I want. OK so that might be a mind game but it works!!!
I can not say that I do not get craving still but they seem to pass and I am ok with something lighter. I NEVER thought I would be ok with that, honestly, I am the one that eat candy, cookies and ice cream ALL the time! You will go through a time where you will feel depressed about losing your best friend, your lover (food) but knowing that this will happen and that it will pass sure helped me out A LOT. I also have to say that the people on here are awesome and also gave me the support that I was needing!
I know you will be ok hun but you really have to want this!!! You will get through... ~hugs~ If you need to chat then just email me your numbers and I will send you mine as well.

Good to see you feeling a little more optimistic today. It is tough and I haven't had surgery yet either. I don't want to be obese anymore! I even hate the sound of that word.I have already started to give up a few of my binge foods so it won't be as bad. I LOVE pasta! I can sit and eat bowls of this stuff. Bread and butter! Pie a whole pie by myself.Pretty disgusting but true. Well I gave up the pasta, and some of the bread and butter and no pie. Stewarts Adirondack Bear paw ice cream, I slipped tonight. It is so not easy but gotta do it one step at a time. These are only some of my favorites, but.... it is not so bad to start with a little here and there.Good luck we are all with you!
