First Stall
Okay-
To all who are farther along in this process than I am-- I am 2.5 months out and have been a slow loser, but moving along. I hit my first stall this past week---If I leaned on the scale a bit, I might have lost .4 lbs. More likely I stayed the same. Booo HISSS..
I know every newbie worries about this, but I can't help it-- I keep getting scared that this is it and the weight loss will stop. Especially because I seem to be eating a bit more food now.
Help!
Andrea
I am so certain your melting inches and its a body catch up to the weight loss time.
PLEASE measure your self and watch the tape measure inches melt.
I am going to be remeasured at the end of the month.
ITS very motivating and helps when the scale isnt moveing.
ITS NORMAL!
AND IM sure your shrinking!
BE strong and it will pass!
MAYBE increase your protein if you can!
AND remember the mini meals work too!
GOOD LUCK
LISA
PS: i feel like i eat to much too at times. HATE STALLS

Andrea,
Hun I know how you feel, I worry about the same thing but we have to not stress out over these mini stalls... ~hugs~ You do lose inches when your body is not losing weight on the scale. You will change every day hun and it can be upsetting when we do not see the numbers on the scale, I know I feel the same way.
I have been very bad with not measuring myself, I do not want to feel like a slave to this, I want to move on with my life and have the weight loss as a benefit, does that make sense?
Well I wish you the best hun ~Hugs~

Hi Andrea,
I know the scary feeling too - I'm 4 months post-op and have had 2 stalls or plateaus already. Don't worry, everyone is right...the inches are coming off during the stalls. My loss has slowed down but I'm still losing 1-2 lbs a weeks so that's okay.
Have you been attending any support group meetings? My hospital has them twice a month and along with this website have been my lifesaver. At group, I mentioned that I was plateauing and they asked what I was eating. When I told them they were shocked and said I wasn't eating enough, so I added a 1/3 of a protein bar 3 times a day - it worked I got back on track. So again, don't worry, you WILL start losing again.
Have a wonderful day and keep us posted on your progress.
Andrea,
I had my surgery 3 days before you, and I am in the middle of a 2 week stall, my first! Everyone keeps telling me they can really see my weight loss now, but I haven't lost! I eat practically nothing, and have trouble getting in enough protein & water. I refuse to think about, because I"M SCARED!! I am new at this too!
