Lamona, you listed your surgery type as "other". What did you have? It's helps to know which procedure you had in order to best answer your question. WELL that early out you should only be on clear liquids and sipping all day into the night. ....what ever u can do. EACH day gets better, and easier and more will sip down. THE think i found best that early on was warmed chicken broth...the warmth felt soooooo good going down. GOOD LUCK RELAX! LISA

It is pretty normal to have trouble getting anything down only a few days out. But when in doubt call your surgeons office and let them know what is going on b/c you dont want to get dehyrdated. I had a really bad stricture only a few days after surgery that was keeping me from getting anything down and had to be surgically corrected. A cat-scan showed it. So if you are alittle worried, call him and let him know. That is what he is there for. Tavia 255/120

Hi Lamona, when I was post op I couldn't drink plain water either, in fact I couldn't drink water until I was about 5 months post-op. As to the eating, is it that you can't eat or your don't have any desire to eat? Either way just try to get some protein in, its vital to your recovery. Good Luck
