Hello my friends. Well, I just found out that I need to report to the hospital at 9am for my surgery. I can't believe how calm I was today at work. My students were upset when I told them I would be gone, but they wished me good luck. I didn't want to tell them what I was having done, so whever they asked I said "head transplant". They when they laughed, I said..."Well, anything is better than that, so it's no big deal. I'll be back in about 2 weeks!" And that helped me dance around the question with a bit of humor. I was so incredible nervous yesterday. My parents took me to the local diner for dinner (my favorite) but afterwards it all came back up. Today I was fine. My mom is staying over tonight to help keep me calm. I think I will get nervous when I change and actually get into my gown and my parents can see me before I go in. Although, I may surprise myself. I HOPE they give me some happy drugs as soon as they can, because I think I'll need it! Wish me luck! I love you all and will see you on the LOSER'S BENCH! Erin

Good Luck tomorrow Erin! We have September 21 in common! I had my surgery one year ago tomorrow and have lost a total of 115 lbs! I too teach and wound up under Dr's orders using 6 weeks to recover due to the fact that I work with Special Ed. I went back to school the beginning of November. I feel WONDERFUL! I have reached my Dr's goal and have just 5-10 lbs more to go to reach my goal of 140-145. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you begin your long awaited journey, and ask if you would do the same for me that I may continue with my success and that I will not be lead into temptation that will cause me to fail. Please keep in touch when you feel up to it and if you like, I would love to correspond through personal e-mails. God Bless and soon you will be joining me on the "losers side!" Hugs Marianne

Congratulations Erin - I had surgery a couple of years ago (not The Surgery). Don't worry, it will be over before you know it. The doc said to me, "I am going to give you something to relax a little...." and that was it. The next thing I know I am in recovery and the nurses are waking me up. God Bless the nurses!! They are truly beautiful. May God be with you as you start the first day of the rest of your life!! Go Get 'em !! Erin Mary

Hello Erin. By the time you read this you will have joined us on the losing side. I didn't see your note yesterday but want to wish you all the luck in the world. You will be so happy and will feel wonderful (about everything). I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers during your recovery. I had surgery on May 18th and it's the very best thing I've ever done for myself. I can't believe that 4 months later I've lost 63 lbs and feel great. I have a long way to go but I don't care. You take care and I'm sure we'll be "hearing" from you real soon. You go girl. Cindee 310/247/?
