Michigan Friend needs help with Free Housing in New York

I have been having surgical complications for the past year and half and my surgeon office can not help me anylonger so I am looking into going to see Dr Elliott Goodman for help but I am in a bind because I am unemployed and have no money for a hotel for a long period of time. So I was wondering if anyone knows of free housing in the area for people who are in financial difficulties and need medical attention for a long period of time because it looks like I will need surgery to correct the problem. Any information would be great because I do not know the area at all. Thanks Tricia

Tricia, hun I am sorry to hear of your complications and needing surgery again ~hugs~ Please hang in there and something will come through for you. Maybe someone in the area that you are having surgery can offer a room for a little while to help you out? I would post on the state board that your new surgeon is in. Thanks for the encouraging words. Dr Goodman is in New York City at Beth Isreal hospital so that is why I posted the request on this board. Tricia
