I went to the PCP and he argree that my dizziness, light-head,fainting, fast heart rate is probably just about malnutrition and dehydration. He says we have to be 100% sure that is what is making me ill, not something else. So he sent me over to see the cardiologist who hooked me up to a halter monitor. He will take it off tomorrow at 330 and look at the results. The cardiologist said he doesnt know if he is comfortable giving me a clearance for surgery he doesnt think I am well enough. He said probably will want me to wear another type of monitor for a WEEK but he will decide tomorrow what to do. But overall mostly likely the surgery for this thursday is off and I probably will go to the O.R TWO WEEKS from now if all goes well. He said he will was going to call Dr. Gellman to make sure he was ok with this. My PCP said he did not regonize me that I got so "skinny". HA! He said we have to be safe than sorry and that is what the cardiologist thinks should happen then lets roll w/it. He said he knows how uncomfortable I am but you really dont want to go under general in the OR knowing (god forbid) there is some kind of bad health problem. He is a little concerned though about my weight. He weighted me at 123 pounds today!! I almost fell on the floor. My blood work from the pre-op was so-so to poor. He told me try to get as much real food in as I can and to call him on his cell if I feel any worse. He said it will get better and he promises, I told him I will believe it when I feel it. Tavia

Carol, Thanks so much for being concerned. This guy in starbucks this morning said to me, "are you ok"? I think i look like the night of the living dead again and it sure doesnt help w/the monitor on. Anyway, I do understand that I should be as healthy as I can when I go under again but like deb said its like a catch 22. I'll post what the cardiologist says this afternoon. I am soooo tired of being in doctors offices. I am sorry if this offends anyone but it seems like its me and old people hanging out in doctors offices nowadays. Thank you carol, really Tavia

Tavia, Hello hun ~hugs~ Thanks for letting us know, this sounds like a catch 22 to me. If you do not have surgery you are not able to eat but if you rush into surgery it could be bad with your health issues. I know it is better to be safe then sorry for sure but I also know you need to be able to get good things to eat! Well keep us posted hun and make the best of it until they feel you are ok for surgery. Hang in there..... Take care Debra P 285/217/125??

Debra, I know it is a catch 22 but I do understand. It's just so frustrating b/c I am totally sick of what I am able to eat now. I'm hanging in there b/c I have no where to go! Hee-Hee! xoxo Tavia

Tavia, Are you having trouble getting in real food? Remember when you could eat just about anything, anytime? Sorry to hear you might have to postpone another 2 weeks, but you know its important to be healthy before the surgery. I know how you feel, its very discouraging to feel like poop and have everyone around you promise you will feel better. It doesn't help how you're feeling NOW. Keep us updated because we care about you! Linda

Linda, Oh my god I am so embarrassed to even deal you guys how I used to eat before my WLS. Now I just look at some foods and cringe. You know what does it for me: mash potatoes, doritos, anything fried and cupcakes. My stomach goes into knots when i just see these foods let alone smell them. UGH! You took the words right out of my mouth. All of these doctors are saying "oh you will be fine" "it will pass" etc etc, but its hard, really hard to believe all of that right now. Thanks for understanding. This halter monitor is itching like CRAZY! AH! Take care. I will post when I get back from the cardologist today and tell you guys what he says. Tavia
