New to Posting-3 months

Good Afternoon! I decieded to take a moment and say 'Hi". I have been lurking on and off over the last few months but have only responded to a couple of posts. I decieded to get with it and post more often. I am scheduled to have surgery on December 9th, 2005. This is the third time that I have been scheduled!! The first time, I postponed it (11/15/04)because I was getting ready for finals (part-time college student), the second time (12/9/04)I was pregnant. I was in the pre-op room (or what ever it is called) and was all set to go into the operating room in 5 minutes, when the doctor came in and told me I was pregnant!! Talk about cutting it close! They did lots of tests over the next few weeks to make sure that the shots that they gave me for the operation had not harmed the baby. Three months ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. I was told I had to wait 6 months after giving birh before having the surgery, so I am just counting down the weeks left!! I am having surgery with Dr. Boss in Rochester. Has anyone had him for a surgeon, and do you have any commets concerning him or Highland Hospital? Thanks

Firstly, I want to say congratulations on your daughter. You and I were in the same sort of predicament--My weight loss journey was postponed because of pregnancy too. Of course, not quite at the same stage! I restart the process at the end of this month. I am hoping to have the surgery in December or early January. I have only heard good things about Dr. Boss even though I am having O'Malley instead. As for Highland Hospital, I think it is a wonderful hospital! I have had both my daughters there and the nurses and other staff were friendly and competent. While I know that isn't the same nurses/staff as are on the Bariatric department, I am certain of their competence. Here again I have heard many accolades for the staff and hospital for the GBS surgeries or else there would be no way I would consider having it done there. Congratualtions on your baby girl - that's wonderful. My dear friend just had the surgery about a month ago with Dr. Boss and had nothing but great things to say about him. Highland is a great hospital, though I have to admit, personally, I have only seen the maternity wing visiting my brand new nieces and nephews. December will be here before you know it. Keep looking toward the goal, you are almost there!! Mary

Marty, Hello hun and thanks for posting. ~hugs~ Congrats on you new daughter Hang in there and before you know it Dec will be here. Eeekkk thinking of Christmas shopping.
