I don't really think I'm having a heart attack, but it feels like if I could have a big burp I'd feel so much better. I had my surgery 9/8. I don't think I'm taking in to many fluids. Does anyone have any advice.

well as long as u feel its not a heart attack. I had to use GAS X chewables the first days post op. SHOULDER pain like that also is a effect from anestegia...of course if ur very concerned phone the surgeon. JUST make ur ur geting some little walks in to help break up that gas! GOOD LUCK LISA

Hi Annette Congrats on your surgery! The only pain I really had was in my left shoulder after the surgery. And when they pulled the drain out the next week, that is where I felt the pull -- I've heard it from others as well, so it must be somewhat normal. Regarding the feeling of gas -- I might get yelled at here, but if I stick my fingers down my throat and there is anything to release, it usually will...

Hi I had my Surgery on 9/7 and for the first couple days my both shoulders were killing me. I found out its because in the OR they pull your arms back almost behind your head and it left both my shoulders in pain. Good luck to you. ' Louis

It is GAS. I had the same problem when I had my surgery (3/22/04) Two weeks ago I had to have my gallbladder removed and after the surgery again I had the shoulder pain. It is so painful, it does feel like a heart attack. Walk and take the Gas X as everyone else said. That will be a big help. Good Luck, and stay healthy! Gail
