NYC Hospitals

Ok i asked this question before and didnt get much of a response. I really need people's opinions on Victory Memorial Hospital vs Brookhaven Hospital. I was set on St. Vincents but my surgeon is not there anymore. Thanks again......

Hi Lisa... This board can get pretty slow. Have you tried the Main Board? I usually get answers there. It's good to post to both boards....... The people are wonderful all around, but more people seem to hang out on the Main Board Hope this helps. Hugs, Blanquie I went to Mt. Sinai in Manhatten. I enjoyed my stay there. Hi Lisa In general, I have not heard good things about Victory Memorial but that may not necessarily mean that they do not have a good Bariatric program. I had my surgery at Maimonides which I initially thought wasn't great but I trusted in the surgoen and the program and everything went off without a hitch. So, if you think your surgeon is a good one you kind of have to trust that he works with hospitals he thinks are good as well. I don't know anything about Brookhaven. SORRY as an east ender of LONG ISLAND BROOKHAVEN memorial hospitol would be my last choice. I dont even hear much good of the surgeon that does the surgies out of brookhaven...... I used MATHER MEMORIALs bariatric program and was cared for in the hospitol with such care! I was so amazed by the care i had received there. SORRY i dont have good to say on brookhaven...just my personal view. LISA 310/225/onederland

Brookhaven has improved greatly in the past few years. The CORI center recently entered into an agreement at the hospital and they are the only ones that are perfoming WLS. Two of my doctors speak very highly of the doctors from the CORI center that perform the surgery. Hope this helps
