Pulmonary Function Test Help

Does anyone know of a pulmonologist in the Capital District (NY) that will also schedule a pulmonary function test in conjunction with pre-surgical evaluations without too much of a wait for an appointment? I need a simple spirometry. The pulmonologist I did see said I don't need one, but the surgeon insists on it. It's the last item I need before meeting with my surgeon for a 2nd time and hopefully, without too much longer of a wait after that,...the surgery date. (YAY!) I find the preliminary processes very stressful but know that it will be worth it. Many thanks.

Have you checked with your PCP? Mine performed the pulmonary function test along with my pre-surgery physical ... It's really the easiest thing in the world ... You just blow into a mouthpiece!

Thanks for the advice, MM. The pulmonologist was referred to me by my pcp. I believe that I will call him to see if he will make another referral to another pulmonologist. The pulmonary lab won't make an appointment without a referral either. I will get it done one way or the other. L
