Hi Sue, Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. To start out you will be on clear liquids for the first week. Now every Dr. is different and I'm sure yours gave you paperwork as to what you can have. Once you can have protein drinks, I recommend SportPharma Whey Protein Mix. I get it at BJ's, a huge jug for 19.99.You can mix 1 scoop into some sugar free jello pudding, but mix it well. I mix one scoop in 5oz. of skim plus or skim milk. Once you're allowed to have fruits, you can mix in a piece of banana, strawberries, whatever you like to change the flavor. As far as your water, just keep some next to the bed and if you wake up you can take a few sips. No setting alarms. Some people can't tolerate cold in their pouch, everyone is different. Any other questions I can help you with let me know. Good Luck! Carmen

Hi Sue, Depending on what you like things that are soft cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, hummas, ricotta cheese, grits or farina, jello, ice pops.. _ i love the Unjury protein powder.. that you have to order from the internet. Right now I have been putting the powder in ice coffee with hazlenut creamor.. and I am loving it. Ice ... was a must for me.. everything had to be extra extra cold... but keep in mind what works for one.. may not work for you. wishing you all the best of luck Hugs Marla
