Almost There

Hi all, I haven't posted in a while, but have been reading. I have my 2nd appointment with my surgeon this Thursday -- he has received all the pre-op reports and then I think they will start the approval process. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I hope to have the surgery in October as my husband is going away the end of September. I started seeing a therapist (this is my 3rd or 4th one I'm trying). I really like her -- she uses some O.A. principles (which I had been a member of and had lost 90 pounds 15 years ago) and faith in her therapy. I really like her and her style -- I hope this helps. I figured I should get started since food is not the real issue -- but why I eat is. I hope I can get this all under control soon. I've been depressed lately -- haven't wanted to get out of bed -- could stay there all day and not do a thing. I don't feel like there is anything to look forward to during the day -- I need to start taking care of myself better and doing things for me instead of everyone else. It is hard though since I have 2 kids. I will just have to take one day at a time and one issue at a time. It's just very overwhelming. I hope everyone had a good day and I thank everyone for their support and posts -- they are so helpful. Love Debbie

Debbie, Hun it is nice to see you post. ~hugs~ Well I am sorry you are going through a rough time right now, I know this whole process can sure wear you down never mind the normal day to day things. Hang in there and it is great that your surgery will be here soon. Take this time to try and relax, start doing some thing for YOU! I am sure it will feel funny for a while but it will all fall into place hun, just have some faith. Post often even if it is to just vent, yell, cry or just to say hello. That is what we are here for to help each other long this wild road. ~Hugs~ Take care hun Debra P

Dear Debra, Thanks so much for your support -- I appreciate it. You're right this is a wild road and I'm trying to just take it one day at a time. I am trying to take better care of me -- and you're right it does feel funny -- I usually think of something else "I should be doing!" But I'm trying one step at a time. Thanks again for being so supportive -- I'll try and undate more often. Love Debbie

Debbie, Hi! It's nice to see you post. Post when your sad or happy or overwhelmed, sometimes just getting it out feels a bit better, and the support you will receive here is great. You are on the right track. Your second surgeon appointment and realizing there is more to being fat than just what you put in your mouth...going to a therapist is a great idea, and you are truly trying to get things in order. I commend you for that. The summer can be tough. Out of normal routine...especially with kids. They stay up late, and they are always "there" so I know it's hard to be there for yourself when occupying them. I am here for you if you ever want to go for a walk or just get out for a cup of coffee and talk. You arent alone. Love, Janean

Dear Janean, Thanks so much for your reply. You're right -- the routine is off during the summer and the kids are "always there" -- I keep thinking -- don't they have somewhere to go? LOL And probably when they do -- I won't want them to! Anyway, I appreciate your reply and I just have to remember one day at a time -- I can't change everything at once (even though that would be nice) LOL Please accept my apologies for not getting back to you regarding the walking -- I just got involved in my own stuff and my own head and doctor's appts. But I will promise you I will call you when I'm "really ready" -- and maybe even that cup of coffee would be nice. I'll call soon and will keep you updated as to my progress. Thanks again, Love Debbie
