Good Saturday morning....
Well the week may have ended for some but there are still those like me who have to work on Saturday.....this is family time huh
Well lets hear what problems you might be having in your journey.....mine is I can eat to much....I mean I really can eat.....but I do know why.....cause I am eating to fast not pausing in between bites....I don't want to eat this much never again do I want to be able to eat like this....so now that I have identified the problem lets see if I can get it fixed.....I know you will be cheering my on and helping me get this under control.....ok ok enough about me......what are you up to.....and where are you in your journey....

Hi Everyone!
Well maybe today my husband, son and I will catch a movie, I am not sure about which one though.
What I am struggling with lately is eating sugar-free jelly beans. Darn them for making so tasty! I eat 4 of them at a time but its becoming all I can think about! Darn them! Evil jelly beans!! I know for a fact if my surgeon knew I was eating these he would not aprove. Oh well to him.
Anyway, I am down over 100 pounds and seriously I do not care if I lose anymore weight. My surgeon says he think I will go down to about the high 120's! All i know is I can wear normal clothes and fit into normal seats, that is enough to make me happy.

Wow congratulations you are doing great and you are happy with where you are that is really nice to hear.....stay happy with yourself....the healthier you.....
Movies now that's and idea.....maybe I'll take the kids to do that.....over at sheepshead bay
it's funny how we get excited over the little things like fitting into a seat with arms....or crossing our legs......and not needing and extension for the airplane seat belt....some people can never understand that....

I'm pre-op, so probably don't have all that much to offer to experienced post-op forlks. I do think what you've identified as needing to be changed sounds right on, though. Other things I've seen folks post about include making sure to eat protein first because they feel fuller faster...they notice they can eat a lot more quantity of refined carbos than of protein. Also, have heard lots about not drinking fluids close to, or with, meals. Maybe you've lapsed into some of these?
You've done marvelously - and I know you're in it for the long haul, so you CAN catch these behaviors and get back on the track you want to be on. I wish you all the best on this!
Today DH and I will go to the rentacenter to put in my application to rent a recliner for a month after my surgery. I hope to have it delivered the day before I leave for surgery so it'll be there when I get back. It's only $20 a week, so unless there's some outrageous delivery/pickup fee, I think it'll be handy to have...even if it does have to sit in the middle of the livingroom!
My tasters' variety pack of protein drinks, whey protein, etc. arrived, along with my Stallone high protein pudding. I've tasted a couple of things, and I do actually like a couple of them so far.
So, bit by bit, getting ready for the end of September.
I'm sorry you're working today...I've been working waaaay too many hours myself, and will be in the office all day on Sunday - you have my full empathy!

thank you so much for your your input I see you are doing your homework.....you can never get enough info on this journey....sounds like you are ready to be a loser.....yes we really do need to identify what we are doing so we do not fall back into the same routines....
I never thought about renting a recliner, but that is really a great idea wish I would have thought about that myself......you will only need it for maybe the first week you will be suprise how fast you bounce back and the energy you will have after the first couple of weeks.....

Sorry you have to work today....well I did to but I was able to get the work done from my home office...thank god.....I don't think I could take another day in the office with the long hours.....but this was my last week=end to work for the semester....

Happy Saturday to you too!!! I'm sorry you have to work.
I can definately see how eating too fast could creep back in. When I eat things that are "safe" for me I find I eat much faster than when I'm trying something new or prepared different. I'm still having trouble with lots of foods so I'm very aware, but when I'm eating something like ricotta cheese or egg whites I tend to "gobble." I took you advice when I'm eating to put the fork down inbetween bites.....take your advice, it works well.
Are you looking forward to the kids going back to school? I'm looking foward to more of a routine.

So good to see you .....Yes I will take my own advice and start putting that darn fork down.....sometimes is so hard you just want to eat and get it over with.....but I know I'm on the right track.....so I hear you girl....
Oh yes I look so forward to the kids going back to school and now the both of them will be in school all day instead of half a day.....and I know what you mean about a routine it's so good for them as well....cause now they don't want to go to bed at night (we don't have any school) so they stay up late but in their beds of course....but I know the tough time I will have getting them to go to sleep when school starts....

Hi everyone! I did something really good today and bad today First i went and joined a gym again. Its been a while i was a member at Bally's for a long time, didnt use it as much as i should have I guess i though if i had a membership that automatically would make me loose the weight lol. I ended the membership about 1 year ago, had it since 1995! So i went today and joined the neighborhood rec center, it has a pool, and gym and weights and everything i will need for the new healthy me! But then it was too much stress for me and i went and had a huge slice of pizza......I have been so good pre op preparing myself but i slipped SO now i have to get back on track again. Hope you are enjoying the day its beautiful out there.
ok your going back to the gym....you go girl.....that is one of the hardest things to do....and I can identify with the I joined so I should lose weight....and wonder why I got bigger and bigger and bigger.....well I forgot to go to the gym and use that member ship that they charged so much for...
don't worry about the pizza now......still want to get in all the foods you think you will never eat again.....suprise you will prolly eat them again just not as much and you prolly wont be able to eat a whole slice...I usually just pick the cheese off the pizza and I feel like I had the whole thing....

Hi Christine and you know me late as usual I am like you and working all weekend and as a matter of fact working everyday to catch up on all the work I have to do before my Plastic Surgery day on the 7th. Trying to get everything done so I can relax for a few weeks or so. As for the eating to much boy lucky you I still have a hard time getting my food and protein in everyday, if I didnt drink at leat my 40grams a day I would be in big trouble. I guess I am one of the lucky ones though that never is hungry or even looks for food but give me a CHIP or TWO and I am good to go.
