Long Island and H I P

Hey there,,, God I havent been on here in so long!! Well I was wondering if anyone has had or is having RNY WLS and has used a dotor on Long Island and has used H I P as their primary insurance? I have a friend looking for a doctor who accepts H I P, she is qualified, as far as weight goes and blood sugar levels are getting High. My doctor does not take H I P anymore so I really want to give her a direction to head in. Please POST any doctors that are Long Island and are H I P affiliated. Dr. Larry Gellman did my surgery. He is in Great Neck on East Shore Road. If you look him up here on OH, it says that he takes HIP/HMO of NY. I don't know if that's accurate, since I know he just stopped taking Oxford, so he may have pulled out of some other insurances as well, but you can call and ask. His phone number is 516-482-8657. Thanks for Dr. Gellman.. I am going to pass this along to her, what abour any others? Anyone one know a DR. in suffolk or out east more? Hopefully I can help her get set up with a good DR. -KIM
