Thanks for the Prayers. Home from my surgery Tuesday the 16th

Thanks to all of you for the prayers. They worked. My Surgeon said it was a textbook surgery. All the hard work I did to prepare paid off. I ended up losing a total of 19 lbs on the South Beach which made my surgery go smoother. He said my liver was nice and flat (no fatty tissue visible) and because most of the weight I lost was fat around my stomach, it made it easy for his instruments to get in and around to do what they needed to do. I had Laproscopic RNY. I felt a little sore the first day and loopy from the morphine, but by the second day they gave me the Lortap elixer which was wonderful. It took the pain away but left me totally comfortable and I felt so good I took several walks by myself. My surgeon, Doc Posner, said I was a star. He said 10% of his patients do well enough to go home the day after surgery and he said I was in the 10%. However, he would not push me out if I wanted to say one more night. I opted to stay just to be sure I could do things for myself. I am home now and I feel great. I have been able to sip my liquid diet and even my protein shakes without any problems. I even took my supplements and everything stayed down. I have been truly blessed and my Mom is staying with me a few days to cook and clean while I recouperate. We have went on 2 walks today and I feel good enough to dance. But I'll hold off for now. The only discouragement I felt was that I stepped on the scale before my shower this morning and the scale didn't move since before the surgery. My fear is that I went through all this and what if it doesn't work. Nothing else worked. Even the South Beach after faithfully doing it took 3 months to lose that 19 lbs. I will not step on that again until my post-op appointment. Take care and God Bless. -Diana-
